are you alone kid?

“Are You Alone Kid?” is a painting based on a memory my friend shared with me years ago. As a kid, she was playing in the olive fields near her house, accompanied by her two Spanish mastiffs when a man saw her and asked if she was alone. She only had to glance at the dogs and the man understood that she most definitely wasn’t alone.
Spanish mastiffs traditionally are livestock guardian dogs, defending sheep from wolves and yes, they are massive and powerful, but the truth is they are big softies.
